Rachel Brown has been dubbed “The Honky Tonk Queen of Cleveland” due to her gospel type piano stylings reminiscent of Floyd Cramer and the great Jerry Lee Lewis. She has been performing Traditional Country/Gospel/Americana/Blues music since she was 6 years old and hails from a family with deep roots in traditional music.
As a singer/songwriter, she has recorded four albums of her original songs and one focusing on the music of Patsy Cline. The newest being released in March 2024. Her band, The Beatnik Playboys, have been playing and creating music together for over 15 years. Rachel is joined by Bill Watson on bass, Dave Huddleston on guitar and Roy King on drums. All four musicians come from very diverse musical backgrounds and the initial concept behind the band was to only play music that felt meaningful and that they truly enjoyed.
This evolved into a very eclectic mix of songs including repertoire from traditional country, jazz, blues and Americana artists. They often perform concerts focusing on her storytelling and original songs. Through the years, Rachel has opened for many legendary artists including Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, The Judds, Emmylou Harris and Loretta Lynn.
